Meet Tabitha
Tabitha majored in Fine Arts at the Maryland Institute College of Art. After art school she moved to New York City and got her first full time job as a textile artist in the fashion industry. Although Tabitha did not have any formal training as a textile designer her ability to paint, a strong sense of color and her obvious creative talent made her stand out. These valuable assets, along with her uncanny ability to meet tight deadlines, added to her success. In the studio where she honed and matured her skills as a textile designer she affectionately became known as “The Queen of Art-To-Wear”. Tabitha continues to create numerous bestsellers for her clients and her work influences many markets in the industry.
Tabitha is a very rare artist who has an extremely versatile hand. By integrating her traditional hand painting abilities into textile art and computer aided design, she has developed a rich creative palette that is in demand in the world of fashion.
For Tabitha art has always been more of a necessity than a choice, “I consider my talent as a gift that I can share with the world to inspire people around me, and see every job as an invitation to connect through the love of art, in the design process”.
When I was in Kindergarten I was teased a lot because I had a very short hair, like the boys. I did not have many friends, but kids came to talk to me more when I drew something on paper, because they liked my drawings.
My family left the privileged life we enjoyed in South Korea and came to the US when I was 15. I lost everything I loved, but it made me focus on my art. During my high school years I had a wonderful Art teacher who gave me opportunities to express myself and I won many Art awards.
